The use of polyurethane materials is an effective method for improving mechanical properties, waterproofing, repairing, and sealing structures. These materials have low viscosity, allowing them to flow between soil particles. They are injected into cracks and fissures, which may not be visible to the naked eye. Upon initiation of the curing process, foaming occurs, and the materials solidify.

It’s worth mentioning that these products can be either hydrophilic or hydrophobic, but hydrophilic materials are primarily used. Hydrophilic materials rapidly expand upon exposure to water, providing effective waterproofing. Important considerations for these products include curing times (foam hardening speed), flow behavior (before and after reactions start), and carbon dioxide generated during the reaction.
